I visited Cornell recently, and I absolutely love the campus. I am very anxious to apply early decision by November 1st, and here is my record. (Note I am applying early decision)
- 4.0 unweighted average
- 101 or so weighted average (on 100 point scale)
- 7 completed AP exams (and taking 9 more this year)
- Four 5's and three 4's on completed exams
- SAT- 580 CR; 740 Math; 680 Writing -- Retaking SAT in november, admissions said they would receive those scores as well. I really hope to boost my CR in that respect

- SAT subject tests -- taking US History, Math II and Biology in October before applying
- In top 1% or better of my class (Out of 500 or so students)
- National Honor Society; applied for President (will not know until September)
- Have some uncles that are Alumni of Cornell
- JV/Varsity Golf team 5 years
- Taking actual college classes at University of Rochester with actual College students
- Democratic America (History) : A- (3.7)

How does my record look in terms of Cornell's standards for early applicants. Any perspective/advice/criticism is welcomed as I want to do as much as I can to get into this great University. Thank you

Here is the problem with Cornell. I go to Cornell and I know that the school constantly rejects 4.0 candidates and accepts people with 3.6-3.7 gpas. Why? Becuase Cornell really looks at your scores and then matches it with your gpa to look for over inflation. When they see your SAT score (which is really low) they will think your grades are over-inflated and you won’t have a good chance. SERIOUSLY RAISE YOUR SAT SCORE (sorry for the caps just had to empasize it’s importance). Other than that and you are good
You are doing very well. Just keep it up. You have an excellent an admissions chance./
It’s possible.
A good safety school is Colgate, in the same area of New York.
You seem to be doing well, make sure you keep your grades up and write good application essays! However, make sure you apply to at least 1 back up school, just in case. Good luck!
